Ultra-Aire
Whole-home ventilating dehumidifiers.

The problem it solves
This is the piece most people in this climate underestimate.
Air conditioning dehumidifies only as a by-product of cooling. On a mild, humid day — of which we get plenty — the system satisfies the thermostat quickly and stops, having removed very little moisture. The result is a house that is cool and still feels damp.
A whole-home ventilating dehumidifier controls humidity on its own terms, whether or not the air conditioner is running.
The ventilation half
These units also bring in filtered outside air. A well-sealed building needs deliberate fresh air rather than accidental leakage, and doing both jobs with one piece of equipment is usually tidier than adding a separate ventilator.
Energy Star rated models are available across the range; we will confirm the rating on whichever unit suits your building rather than assuming it.
Common questions
My air conditioning already removes humidity. Why would I need this?
Only as a side effect of cooling. On a mild, damp day the system reaches temperature quickly and shuts off before it has removed much moisture, so the house ends up cool and still clammy. A dehumidifier handles humidity independently of temperature, which is exactly the gap.
